The seductive spy, played byTom Hiddleston, is the main character inThe Night Manager, which returned for asecond seasonin January 2026 after a nearly decade-long wait.

The first installment ofThe Night Manageradapted the 1993 novel by John le Carré, but season 2 is an original story — one that Hiddleston and the series' creative team have teased is meant to continue into another chapter.

When speaking about the future ofThe Night Manager, director Georgi Banks-Davies toldVariety, the latest installment can be looked at "as the second book in the trilogy."

While Prime Video has not officially confirmed a third season ofThe Night Manager, Hiddleston, who also serves as an executive producer, has hinted that new episodes are already underway.

"We're working on it. Yeah, we're working on it now," the actor toldTV Insiderin January 2026. "It's not in official pre-production, but it's in official development. We're working on it, we're refining the story and the architecture of what we really like."

Two weeks later, he toldThe Morningthat season 3 is happening.

Details forThe Night Managerseason 3 plot have not been divulged, but according to Hiddleston, season 2 and season 3 were planned "as a two-volume story," as he told TV Insider.

"I won't reveal it now because that would take away the lovely surprise," he added. "But yeah, it's going to be an extraordinary journey. It's not over yet."

In a January 2026Varietyinterview,The Night Managerseason 2 director Banks-Davies revealed season 1 and season 2 writer David Farr was "in the early stage" of working on season 3.

"When the second season came, the plan was to go to three," the director explained. "So when you see our whole series, you'll see it can sit entirely alone but can also sit very much as the second book in the trilogy."

A release date forThe Night Managerseason 3 has not been shared, but Hiddleston has reassured fans they will not have to wait 10 years again.

"We always constructed this one as the beginning of a 12-episode story," he said about season 2 during a January 2026 interview onThis Morning.

"So that, actually, it gave us, I think, greater scope in terms of imagining where the story might go, knowing that we had another season to come," he continued. "There's something satisfying about trilogies narratively."

When asked about another decade-long wait, Hiddleston replied, "We will be sooner than that. It's booked in. We're going to do it."

Demond Wilson, who played Lamont on 'Sanford and Son,' dies at 79

Demond Wilson, who found fame in the 1970s playing Lamont on "Sanford and Son" and went on to become a minister, has died. He was 79.

Mark Goldman, a publicist for Wilson, confirmed to The Associated Press that he died following complications from cancer on Friday.

"A devoted father, actor, author, and minister, Demond lived a life rooted in faith, service, and compassion. Through his work on screen, his writing, and his ministry, he sought to uplift others and leave a meaningful impact on the communities he served," Goldman said in an emailed statement.

Wilson was best known as the son of Redd Foxx's comically cantankerous Fred Sanford character in a sitcom that was among the first to feature a mostly Black cast when it began airing in 1972.

The thoughtful Lamont had to put up with his junkyard owner father's schemes, bigotry and insults — most famously, and repeatedly, "You big dummy!"

The show was a hit for its six seasons on NBC but ended when ABC offered Foxx a variety show.

Wilson was born in Valdosta, Georgia, and grew up in the Harlem section of Manhattan, according to the biography on his website.

He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was wounded there, and he returned to New York and acted on stage before heading to Hollywood.

A guest appearance on "All in the Family" in 1971 led to his best-known role. Norman Lear produced both shows.

Wilson told AP in 2022 that he got the role over comedian Richard Pryor.

"I said, 'C'mon, you can't put a comedian with a comedian. You've got to have a straight man,'" he said he told the producers.

After "Sanford and Son" ended, Wilson starred in the shorter-lived comedies "Baby I'm Back" and "The New Odd Couple." He later appeared in four episodes of the show "Girlfriends" in the 2000s, along with a handful of movie roles.

Though he returned to the screen at times, he told the Los Angeles Times in 1986 that the acting life was not for him: "It wasn't challenging. And it was emotionally exhausting because I had to make it appear that I was excited about what I was doing."

Wilson became a minister in the 1980s.

He is survived by his wife, Cicely Wilson, and their six children.

"Becausemaking sure that girls are confidentnot only sets them up to be happier, but they will also have a more joyful feeling in life, ... and that joy can drown out the other mess," she continues.

"You can build these girls up with confidence so that when some silly person somewhere along their way decides to try and switch up the messaging, they've had so much joy just compounded into their ears that it drowns it out and it's a non-issue, because they're like, 'That's so silly that you said that, but I actually heard [the opposite] so many other times ... so it doesn't matter that you said that," Kelce further explains.

"Through motherhood, you see how getting that positive messaging across then makes those intrusive and negative thoughts not mean as much," adds themom of four.

Kelce, who continues her ongoing partnership withDovethrough a commercial that will air during the2026 Super Bowl, learned her self-love practices through her own life experiences.

When she was younger, Kelce playedfield hockey, and she tells PEOPLE she was often doubting herself and "fighting against" her own body as a young athlete.

"It seemed like a detriment. It seemed like it was going to make my life harder," Kelce recalls of thoughts she had about her body at the time, citing her 5'11" height as a major concern.

However, Kelce says, "I quickly started to realize that my body was truly an asset, even in a sport where it didn't seem that it would naturally be one. I had a reach that nobody else had, a reach that was surprising to opponents, something that they weren't prepared for, and I had very strong legs, which made my hits unbelievably hard in a way that surprised people."

Further Russia-Ukraine talks scheduled for next week, says Zelenskyy

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — The next round ofpeace talksbetween Russian and Ukrainian delegations will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Sunday.

Envoys from Russia, Ukraine and the U.S. had been expected to meet that day in Abu Dhabi, to continue negotiations aimed at endingMoscow's all-out invasionof its neighbor.

"We have just had a report from our negotiating team. The dates for the next trilateral meetings have been set: Feb. 4 and 5 in Abu Dhabi. Ukraine is ready for substantive talks, and we are interested in an outcome that will bring us closer to a real and dignified end to the war," Zelenskyy said in a Telegram post.

There was no immediate comment from U.S. or Russian officials.

On Saturday afternoon, top Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev said he had held a "constructive meeting with the U.S. peacemaking delegation" in Florida.

Officials have so far revealed few details of the talks in Abu Dhabi, which are part of a yearlongeffort by the Trump administrationto steer the sides toward a peace deal and end almost four years of all-out war.

While Ukrainian and Russian officials have agreed in principle with Washington's calls for a compromise, Moscow and Kyiv differ deeply overwhat an agreement should look like.

A central issue is whether Russia should keep or withdraw from areas of Ukraine its forces have occupied, especially Ukraine's eastern industrial heartland calledthe Donbas, and whether it should get land there that it hasn't yet captured.

KYIV, Feb 1 (Reuters) - U.S.-backed trilateral talks involving Ukraine and Russia will take place next week in Abu Dhabi, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday, as Ukrainians faced uncertainty over the fate of an ​energy ceasefire with Russia amid plunging temperatures.

Kyiv is under U.S. pressure to secure peace in the nearly four-year war ‌while grappling with a Russian campaign of air strikes that has ravaged its energy system during one of the coldest winters in years.

The first round of ‌negotiations took place in late January, but led to no new movement on the vital question of territory, with Moscow still demanding Kyiv cede more land in its war-torn east, which it refuses to do.

Zelenskiy said the new talks would take place on February 4 and 5, and that Ukraine - struggling to stop grinding Russian advances on the battlefield - was ready for a "substantive discussion".

"Ukraine is ready for a ⁠substantive discussion, and we are interested in ‌ensuring that the outcome brings us closer to a real and dignified end to the war," Zelenskiy wrote on X.

WORKERS RACE TO RESTORE POWER

In the capital Kyiv, 1,000 apartment buildings remained without heating on ‍Sunday, said Mayor Vitali Klitschko, as a new wave of bitter cold swept across much of the country.

Temperatures in the city on Sunday hovered around -15 degrees Celsius, as workers raced to restore heating to hundreds out of the nearly 3,500 high-rises affected by a widespread grid malfunction on ​Saturday.

Officials did not directly link it to war damage, but the resulting blackouts - which spread to neighbouring Moldova - underlined the ‌vulnerability of Ukraine's energy system after months of Russian attacks.

The Kremlin said two days ago it had agreed to halt strikes on energy infrastructure until Sunday at the request of U.S. President Donald Trump, and Kyiv said it would reciprocate.

Ukraine said the suspension was supposed to last until the following Friday.

TWO PEOPLE KILLED OVERNIGHT

The countries have not reported major strikes on their energy systems in recent days, though Zelenskiy said on Sunday that Russia was attempting "to destroy logistics and connectivity between cities and communities" through ongoing ⁠air attacks.

In southeastern Ukraine, two people were killed overnight in a drone ​strike on a residential building in the city of Dnipro, and six people ​were wounded in an attack on a maternity hospital in Zaporizhzhia, regional officials said.

Temperatures are expected to drop even further on Monday to well below minus 20 degrees Celsius in Kyiv.

Ukrainian private energy firm DTEK ‍said on Sunday it had restored ⁠power to 300,000 households in the southern coastal region of Odesa, which had been hit hard by the malfunction.

Grid operator Ukrenergo said late on Saturday that planned outages would be in force throughout the entire country.

Anatoliy Veresenko, a 65-year-old ⁠veteran who was out for a run at a Kyiv park, said he was warily anticipating new attacks and did not place much hope in ‌the peace process.

"Talks are talks. We hope for peace, but we still need to fight and secure victory."

CLINTON, La. (AP) — A 6-year-old and four other people were wounded when gunfire erupted during a small-town parade Saturday in Louisiana, sending people in the crowd fleeing for cover, authorities said.

East Feliciana Parish Sheriff Jeff Travis told reporters the shooting happened shortly after the midday start of the Mardi Gras in the Country Parade in Clinton, about 30 miles (50 kilometers) north of Baton Rouge.

Investigators are trying to piece together what happened, why and who was responsible, but those answers weren't immediately clear even with extra law enforcement on hand at the time to help with the parade, he said. Travis said three people in the area who had firearms were taken into custody but that it wasn't clear whether they were involved in the shooting.

Gov. Jeff Landry reacted to the shooting in a post on the social platform X, calling it "absolutely horrific and unacceptable" and urging people to pray for the victims.

Details about them and their conditions weren't immediately released. But Chief Criminal Deputy Bill Cox from the sheriff's office toldThe Advocatethat everyone was expected to survive.

The sheriff's office asked for anyone with photos or video of the shooting or nearby areas to share those with investigators.
